Questions and answers
What do I need to use PDF Smart Card Signer?
A Windows 10 or Windows 11 computer and a smart card or USB token with a digital signing certificate, for example from ComSign. The software works with any certificate that appears in the Windows certificate store, with no need for Adobe Acrobat or other software.
Is the digital signature recognised by Adobe Acrobat Reader?
Yes. The signatures were tested in Adobe Acrobat Reader and show as valid. With a trusted timestamp, the signature stays valid even after the certificate expires.
Can I sign many PDF files at once?
Yes. Put the files in the source folder and sign them all with one click. You can also combine several files into one PDF before signing, or let the software watch the folder and sign new files as they arrive.
Are my documents sent over the internet?
No. Signing happens on your computer and the private key never leaves the smart card. If you turn on the trusted timestamp, only a hash of the signature is sent to the timestamp server, never the document itself.
Can I add a visible signature with a logo or stamp?
Yes. The signature can be invisible or visible, with text, a graphic or both. Choose one of the 15 stamps included with the software, or use your own logo, company stamp or scanned signature, and set exactly where it appears on the page.
How much does it cost?
